At least three children were among 27 people wounded as a result of a Russian drone attack on Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv overnight that damaged apartments and a kindergarten, Ukrainian authorities said on Monday.

Moscow barreled hundreds of drones toward four key regions in Ukraine overnight, just as lawmakers in Kyiv scrambled to approve additional defense spending against the backdrop of intensified Russian attacks over the past few days.

KYIV, Ukraine -- Russia targeted Ukraine overnight with 322 drones, 292 of which were "neutralized" by being either shot down or supressed by other means, according to the Ukrainian air force. Eleven people, including two children, were injured in the Kharkiv area, in a drone strike overnight there, according to local emergency services.
