Some of the British families who lost loved ones in the Air India crash in Ahmedabad have been sent the wrong remains, a lawyer says.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday reacted to a report claiming bungling in identifying the bodies of Britons killed in the crash of Air India flight 171 in Ahmedabad. External affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal asserted that all mortal remains were handled with utmost professionalism.

Authorities released a preliminary report on the Air India crash, following an investigation. The London-bound flight from Ahmedabad crashed minutes into the June 12 flight. Only one passenger of the 242 passengers and flight crew survived.
