Disney+ has officially shelved Princess and the Frog series Tiana as the streamer abandons long form animation stories.

Walt Disney Animation Studios will no longer produce a series on Princess Tiana as the company reimagines its strategy.

Instead, Joyce Sherri, who was writing and directing on the animated series, will be helming an animated special that will find its home on Disney+. "Meet the Robinsons" director Stephen Anderson will also direct on the new project.
