Most major retailers and grocery chains close early on Christmas Eve and remain shut on Christmas Day, including Walmart, Target, Costco, Kroger, and Publix. A few convenience stores, pharmacies, and select restaurants stay open with limited or regular hours.

The majority of grocery and retail stores, including Publix, Walmart, and Target, will be closed on Christmas Day. A few stores, such as CVS, Walgreens, and Bravo Supermarkets, will remain open on Christmas Day with modified hours.

This means Walmart will not be open for in-store shopping on Christmas Day in 2025. Grocery sections, pet aisles, pharmacies, and customer service desks are all closed. Even Supercenter locations that typically operate extended hours follow the same Christmas Day closure policy.
