Not too long ago, the Ohio State Buckeyes' fan base had turned against head coach Ryan Day and wanted the program to fire him. That was following the loss in the regular season finale to the Michigan Wolverines.

Ohio State announced in a statement on Thursday that they have agreed to a seven-year contract extension with Day. The new deal will pay Day $12.5 million per year, which makes him the second-highest-paid coach in college football behind only Georgia’s Kirby Smart.
