James Fishback, the CEO of investment firm Azoria Partners, sees a way for every US tax-paying household to get a check President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), helmed by Elon Musk. On Tuesday, Fishback pitched the idea — dubbed the “DOGE dividend” — publicly on X, formerly Twitter.

But now there is another reason to worry about DOGE: Scammers are capitalizing on increased interest in its actions in order to defraud people of cryptocurrency, according to the online protection company McAfee, which researches and monitors digital scams.

Musk said he "will check with the president" on what proponents call a "DOGE Dividend," which would be a 20% refund of money recouped through spending cuts.

The administration is considering a concept in which 20% of the savings produced by DOGE’s cost-cutting efforts goes to American citizens.
