The Miami Marlins' winning streak ended at eight games Wednesday night, and it did so with some controversy. In the sixth inning of the 2-1 loss to the Twins at loanDepot park, Kyle Stowers appeared to have tied the score with a blistering single off reliever Brock Stewart that scored Jesús Sánchez from second base.

The Twins, who were shut out by the Tigers on Sunday, were blanked for the seventh time this season. Edward Cabrera (3-2) struck out six and only allowed two hits and one walk in seven innings, the longest start of the season by a Marlins pitcher.
