T.J. Watt might not be ready to return from his lung injury in time to help the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Baltimore Ravens for a playoff spot in Week 18.

Cleveland led Pittsburgh 10-6 for much of the game and extended to their lead to 13-6 when the Steelers failed to convert a fourth-down late to give the Browns the football in plus-territory. The Steelers got the ball back and drove down the field to reach first-and-goal, putting themselves in position to tie up the game and force overtime.

But the storyline that trumped them all was Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett going into Sunday with 22.0 sacks on the season. He’s crept up on the single-season sack record of 22.5 set by Michael Strahan (2001) and the Steelers’ T.J. Watt (2021).

The Steelers (9-7) could have locked up a playoff berth with a victory over last-place Cleveland, or if the Baltimore Ravens (8-8) had lost to Green Bay on Saturday. The Ravens remained alive with a 41-24 triumph over the Packers.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington suffered a broken arm in the first quarter of the 13-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
