Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is reportedly partnering with TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC, to launch a new boxing league. It’s the latest in Saudi Arabia’s aggressive push in the sporting world which has been labelled as ‘sportswashing’ by its critics.

TKO is reportedly close to launching a boxing league with the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund. Tariq Panja and Kevin Draper of the New York Times report that TKO and the Saudi Arabia Public Investment fund are close to creating a boxing league.

Saudi Arabia and its Public Investment Fund could team up with the UFC to create a new boxing league. According to a report from the New York Times, the two parties could join forces via TKO Group Holdings Inc.
