Bostonians will likely be waking up to light snowfall Saturday morning with the chance for some accumulation of up to 2 inches, the first time in several weeks as two storms pass near New England. The main storm will miss our region to the south, keeping the heaviest precipitation out to sea.

Temperatures continue to stay rather seasonable, but by the afternoon Saturday, we are tracking the chance for snow that lingers for the weekend.

Most of New Jersey woke up to at least a dusting of snow Saturday morning from a quick overnight storm. For the second time this week, Cape May County had the highest snowfall totals reported by the National Weather Service as of 11 a.m. That was the hardest hit area in Monday’s more significant snowstorm.

"A more significant storm passes well to our south on Saturday leaving southern New England with just a period of light snow showers expected through the day," the NWS Boston office said on its website Friday morning.

A little bit of snow is in the forecast for this weekend. On Saturday, the Seacoast is forecasted to recieve up to an inch of snow, as a major weather system is moving across the country. "It's going to be light so it's really not going to amount to much,
