The Atlanta Braves placed right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach on the injured list on Wednesday because of a fractured right elbow. In a corresponding move, the Braves recalled lefty Austin Cox from Triple-A Gwinnett.

The Saginaw Heritage graduate felt soreness in his elbow after a career-high 12 strikeouts Saturday in a 6-1 win over Philadelphia. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed three hits and one walk in improving his record to 7-4.
