The following counties and areas in Texas currently have a flood warning in place: Neches River near Diboll, affecting Angelina, Polk and Trinity counties. Rio Grande, Big Bend National Park, affecting Brewster County. Leon River at Gatesville affecting Coryell County. Sabine River near Deweyville, Newton County.

According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood is flooding that begins within six hours, and often in as little as three hours.

Some 36 hours after the floods, authorities still have not said how many people were missing beyond 27 children from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp along a river in Kerr County where most of the dead were recovered.

Texas forecasters issued a series of early-morning warnings about “life-threatening flooding” along the Guadalupe River.

The flash flood in Kerr County has killed at least 51 people, including 15 children. Authorities have not disclosed the official count of missing persons apart from the children from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp along a river in Kerr County, from where most of the dead bodies were recovered.
