The Oak Ridge Fire grew more slowly but still surpassed 10,600 acres last night. More than 350 people in several communities remain under evacuation orders.

The wildfire, believed to have been sparked by wood haulers, remained at 0% containment June 29, 2025, as firefighters worked to extinguish it.

The Oak Ridge Fire in Apache County continues to burn at 1,800 acres with zero percent containment. The blaze is located about 8 miles southwest of Window Rock. The Navajo Nation declared a state of emergency due on Sunday to the fire’s growth.
