Relics linked to America’s most famous political assassinations are heading to auction next weekend, including “previously unknown and unseen” film footage of former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy draped over her husband’s body as it sped away from his slaying at Dallas’s Dealey Plaza.

Rarely seen footage captured in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963, during the assassination of President John F. Kennedy is going up for auction in Boston later this month. And while the 8mm film lasts just 10 seconds, it’s a fascinating peek into history that’s been hiding away in private hands for decades.

Carpenter kept the film in a round metal canister labeled “JFK Assassination”, one of his sons, 63-year-old David Carpenter told the Times. He said rarely showed others the footage, likely due to its grim nature. The film shows two parts of the incident.
