A surfer on Cape Cod in Massachusetts had a terrifying close call with a white shark in an encounter caught on camera.

Researchers are putting cameras on white sharks in Cape Cod Bay, in an effort to better understand their travels and behaviors.

Cape Cod Bay saw a handful of sharks swimming in its waters, with several others detected around the outer edge of the Cape.
