Hotel and casino giant MGM Resorts has agreed to pay $45 million to settle more than a dozen class action lawsuits after hackers stole personal data on millions of customers in two separate cyberattacks.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - MGM Resorts has agreed to pay $45 million in a lawsuit. This is for a data breach in 2023 and 2019 which caused millions of people to have their personal information compromised.

A $45 million settlement over two MGM Resorts data breaches was given preliminary approval in a class-action lawsuit last week, according to court documents and attorneys’ statements.

A federal court gave initial approval to a $45-million settlement to resolve allegations MGM failed to protect personal information for millions.

The deal would resolve a consolidated class-action over two cyberattacks, one of which cost the resort operator $100 million.

Attorneys say some plaintiffs will get $75, others $50, if the class-action lawsuit settlement to be finalized in June is approved in U.S. District Court in Nevada.
