A spokesman for London Southend Airport said: "Due to adverse weather in Palma de Mallorca, tonight's easyJet departure to the Spanish city has been cancelled.

UK tourists over in Majorca have been warned over the departures chaos, as flooding swept the holiday hotspot island after torrential downpours.

Flights to and from the airport have resumed following the deluge, but at least 21 departures from Palma Airport are delayed today. A total of 9cm of rainfall fell in less than an hour.
