A major weather shakeup is expected across Southern California as we shift from the recent warm trend to significantly cooler weather and an incoming storm starting mid-week.
Southern California is bracing for heavy rain, gusty winds and cooler temperatures as a Pacific storm, fed by an atmospheric river, moves inland through the region.
The heaviest rain came on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service, which prompted several flash flood warnings. Adam Roser, a meteorologist with the weather service, told SFGATE that Saturday’s rain broke numerous records set during a Nov. 15, 1965, storm system.
The Auto Club of Southern California released its holiday forecast on Monday, the same day the Federal Aviation Administration lifted restrictions on flights at major airports across the country.
