The city of Clarksburg has approved an ordinance prohibiting homeless people from sleeping on its streets. Clarksburg City Council voted 4-2 to approve the camping ban Thursday.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Clarksburg City Council passed a camping ban ordinance Thursday evening, as part of an effort to aid the unhoused population in the city. City council passed the measure through the first reading in mid-October and held a public hearing before the vote on Thursday.

The Clarksburg City Council held their second and final reading of the Camping Ban Ordinance. The Council voted to pass the ordinance in a four to two vote on Thursday, November 11, 2024. Similar to the ordinance that was passed earlier this year in Morgantown,
