The theme of the rally, one of hundreds planned across the U.S., is in tribute to the late civil rights leader John Lewis.

Organizers will call for passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and other voting rights legislation.

An event honoring the legacy of late U.S. Rep. John Lewis was held on the South Carolina State House steps on Thursday.

An estimate of more than 1,700 people attended an IndivisibleNOCO rally at Dwayne Webster Veterans Park in June.
