Aston Villa are set to make matters worse after the contentious sale of Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle after struggling against the Magpies.

Newcastle United have completed the signing of midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa, the club has announced. Ramsey -- who came through Villa's academy and had been at the club since the age of six -- becomes Newcastle's third signing in a window where they have been the centre of one of the transfer sagas of the summer.

A number of Villa players took to social media to send well wishes to Jacob Ramsey after he completed his move to Newcastle United. Villa sold the 24-year-old for £39 million, with a possible £5m in add-ons to follow.
