TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis approved an austere spending plan on the last day of the fiscal year Monday under $115 billion, one that is less than the current budget yet still delivers almost $1 billion in tax savings for Florida businesses. DeSantis said he vetoed nearly $600 million worth of items approved by the Legislature.

"I think it was true prior to me signing this budget, but I think signing the budget underscores the fact that Florida is the best fiscally managed state in these United States," DeSantis said at an event in Wildwood on June 30.
