Ryan Preece has walked away after a spectacular crash during the closing laps of the 2025 Daytona 500, going airborne and flipping down the Daytona backstretch and up the banking in Turn 3. It all occurred after a multi-car crash that began when Christopher Bell got spun in front of traffic while racing for the win with four laps to go.

A large crash occurred at the end of the second Daytona Duel qualifying race, involving multiple drivers including rookie Shane van Gisbergen and former champion Kyle Larson. The crash was triggered when van Gisbergen made contact with Christopher Bell while attempting a pass on the outside.

Ryan Blaney, the recent Cup champion who came within 0.003 seconds of Daniel Suárez, won the pole position to lead the field to green. Ford drivers own nine of the first 10 starting positions in Sunday’s race — including all four members of the Team Penske/Wood Brothers Racing alliance on the front two rows.
