The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-1, with Brandon Saad scoring early in the third period.
Though the Canucks were able to grab an early lead, the Golden Knights took control of this game in the middle part of the contest. Kevin Lankinen was peppered with shots and scoring chances that ultimately broke through early in the second period when, at last, their shot volume broke in their favour on a fortunate bounce off of the end wall.
Lots of hockey remaining but that’s the picture today and with the top points percentage in the Pacific, the Golden Knights have outright control of the division. Vegas plays LA on Monday and then will have one more game remaining against the Kings. The Golden Knights have one more regular season game left against the Oilers.
