UNITED NATIONS (AP) — President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that the United States will withdraw from the top U.N. human rights body and will not resume funding for the U.N. agency helping Palestinian refugees. Hamas has been designated a terrorist organization by the United States, Canada, and European Union.

President Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday withdrawing the U.S. from the UN Human Rights Council and stopping funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency, which provides services to Palestinian refugees in the Middle East.

Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that Israel would join the US in withdrawing from the UNHRC, criticizing the council for bias against Israel.
