D ETROIT - Houston Astros left-hander Brandon Walter was shut down after a setback in his attempt to return from an elbow injury, the team announced. Walter was placed on the injured list July 25 due to elbow inflammation. He had resumed throwing but had a recurrence of inflammation, the team said Monday.
