It felt for some time that Eberechi Eze would be a Tottenham player eventually, when suddenly Eze was signing for Spurs' biggest rival Arsenal. So how did it all go down?

David Ornstein has now revealed that Tottenham were actually ready to increase their offer to the release clause value after finding out that Arsenal were attempting a hijack. Unfortunately for them, it was too late, as the Gunners were prepared to match that, and Eze chose Arsenal over Spurs.

Eberechi Eze is now expected to join Arsenal after the Gunners came back in for him in the 11th hour, despite agreeing a move in principle to join north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur within the last 24 hours.
