Friends and relatives of the four University of Idaho students murdered in their rental home by Bryan Kohberger delivered powerful statements of love, anguish and condemnation before he was sentenced to life in prison.

Adam Sandler, Anderson Cooper, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, John Oliver and Andy Cohen were among those who made surprise appearances on Monday's episode after CBS announced that the late night show would be ending in May 2026.

The hearing began with a statement from Bethany Funke, one of the survivors who was in the house the night of the murders. In the statement, which was read by a friend, Funke recounted the confusion and fear she felt while calling 911. “I was grieving, numb, and unsure what had happened was even real,” the statement said.

The defense team representing Bryan Kohberger planned to blame three victims' friends and a fourth person with no known ties to them.
