The Rockies got on the board quick in the bottom of the first inning against Shane Smith, as Mickey Moniak clubbed a leadoff home run to right center. The team added on in the bottom of the second inning as a dreaded leadoff walk to Ryan McMahon came around to score after a single and fielder’s choice RBI by Yanquiel Fernández brought him around.

Mickey Moniak finished a double shy of a cycle, Michael Toglia hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the fifth inning and the Colorado Rockies beat the Chicago White Sox 6-4 on Sunday to avoid a sweep in a series between the two worst teams in the majors.

Moniak — who was 3 for 4 with three RBIs — ended up a double shy of hitting for the cycle. Moniak, who started in center field, led off the first with a home run to right off Shane Smith, Moniak’s 13th homer of the season. He also singled in the seventh.
