Michigan is marking an average gas price of $3.09 per gallon of regular unleaded gas, though much of West Michigan is seeing prices much lower than that.

The search for a woman who disappeared in a Grand Rapids river was suspended Sunday and authorities are not planning to resume it, officials said. Authorities reported at 1 p.m. that their effort to find the woman in the Grand River stopped due to icy conditions.

With recovery efforts being suspended for the 25-year-old woman who fell into the Grand River Saturday night, it’s a grim yet important reminder of water and ice safety this time of year.
