Arkansas head coach John Calipari was frustrated with his team's inability to make free throws against Houston.
The No. 8 Houston Cougars captured what might've been their best win of the season and one of the top statements in all of college basketball in an explosive 94-82 win over No. 14 Arkansas at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Saturday evening as part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic.
Freshman guard Darius Acuff Jr. led Arkansas (9-3) with 27 points and seven assists. Malique Ewin added 20 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Razorbacks, who had won four in a row.
"Don't sleep on Houston," Kelvin Sampson famously said last April after the Cougars stunned much of the college hoops world by ending Cooper Flagg's college career with the Coogs' epic upset of No. 1 Duke in the Final Four. It's time to remind the world to wake up again. Maybe it's because Houston loves to win ugly.
The No. 8 Houston Cougars (10-1) cruised to their second-ranked win of the season with a 94-85 victory over the No. 14-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2). It was a solid night offensively for the Cougars as they missed a season-high in scoring by just five points.
