Representative Tom Suozzi (D-NY) spoke with Weijia Jiang on Face the Nation Sunday about the One Big, Beautiful Bill and Zohran Mamdani winning the Democratic nomination for NYC mayor.

Mr. Mamdani’s victory upended city politics and reverberated nationally. He relied on a memorable message, charisma and a strong ground game.

Politics aside, his victory is historic. If elected in November, Mamdani would become the first Muslim and South Asian mayor of New York City. There are currently four members of Congress who are Muslim and 32 who are Jewish, according to Pew.
