USA TODAY Touchdown Wire on MSNWatch: Brian Baldinger breaks down Rams rookie Shaun Dolac's performance vs. Chargers
Shaun Dolac was the most notable undrafted free agent signed by the Los Angeles Rams this season, mostly because of the accolades he collected in college. He was a two-time first-team All-MAC selection at the University of Buffalo, earning MAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024 when he was also a consensus All-American.
The Chargers fell to the Rams by the score of 23-22 on Saturday night at SoFi Stadium. Here's a game recap from the Chargers third preseason game: The Chargers trailed by two points a few minutes into the fourth quarter. Then 'The Grimm Reaper' showed up.
Brennan Jackson had two sacks and Desjuan Johnson paved the way for them. The Chargers, built to run the football, averaged 3.6 yards per carry. Take away quarterbacks Trey Lance and Taylor Heinicke, the Chargers averaged 2.3 yards per carry.
Not every Rams fan put it quite so forcefully. Bob Gerard said he moved to L.A. from Chicago and hitched onto the Rams when they returned in 2016. The 58-year-old, who donned a Puka Nacua jersey, joked that he’s fine letting the Chargers crash at SoFi — so long as the arrangement isn’t mistaken.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston suffered a concussion on a hard hit from a Los Angeles Rams defensive back on Saturday.
The Los Angeles Chargers may have suffered their first preseason loss, but the team saw the arrival of a talented rookie wide receiver.
