Dec 28, 2022 · MLGW customers and partners, By now, most of you already know the good news: our water system is well on its way to full recovery. For most of our system, customers are enjoying normal pressure and water availability. I anticipate that by the morning all our customers should be restored to normal pressures.

TVA and MLGW issue Energy Conservation Alert
Jan 16, 2024 · Due to subfreezing temperatures throughout the southern United States and unusually high demand for electricity across the Tennessee Valley, TVA and MLGW have issued an “energy conservation alert” effective at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16.

A precautionary boil water advisory remains in effect for areas affected by a significant loss of water pressure. Affected areas are outlined in the maps below. Rolling blackouts have ceased for now. MLGW asks all commercial and residential customers to conserve energy and water until the power supply and demand are stable.

MLGW prepares for cold weather by tracking the weather, having additional crews on standby, and ensuring vehicles are equipped with necessary tools. Tree trimming crews cleared over 1600 miles in 2024 to help reduce electric outages caused by falling limbs.
Registration is open for MLGW’s Winter Moratorium program
Oct 23, 2024 · MLGW wants to ensure uninterrupted service to its senior (ages 60 and above) and disabled customers during the coldest months of the year. The Winter Moratorium program prevents cutoffs for registered customers during December, January and February.

MLGW crews are repairing known water main breaks. At present, there are six known main breaks. Other crews are working to detect breaks in water mains or along the distribution system. The Fire Department is addressing fire suppression system leaks.
