Apr 24, 2021 · Stupid thinking. Twitch really doesn't care if you play music. The music industry cares and put pressure on Twitch. Way back when in the 90s, the music industry started suing individual people for downloading a few songs. These people ended up owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and fines. All for a few songs.

RESOLVED: I had a dark mode extension which was making the overlay completely black. By adding twitch to its blacklisted websites, the black screen is gone. I can finally watch the stream normally! Original Post: Any streams that uses twitch integration are unwatchable to me. I see the screen for about a second, then it goes completely black.

Dec 11, 2022 · This is all Twitch/Amazon's fault because of their badly designed 'bot detection' integrity checks. These integrity checks happen every time you try to interact with the Twitch canvas now, so there's nothing that can be done unless Amazon decides to support additional browsers or extensions outside of what they consider a 'normal profile'.

Twitch is a stage, but it is entirely up to the entertainer to put butts in seats. Unless Twitch radically reinvents itself I don't see it as being a platform for discovery any time soon much the same way I don't think concert halls are likely to be in the business of trying to promote upstart musicians, bands, comedians and other entertainers.
