For shrub roses that have been flowering for over 3 years: To encourage a taller plant, prune by less than a third. To maintain the roses current size, prune by third. To reduce the current size, you can back back up to half its size. Best practice is to prune to an outward facing bud. Don’t be scared of pruning roses too hard - they are tough plants and bounce back! Happy pruning! #rosepruning #howtogarden
