In 2018, the first drone was allowed to fly during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. During the event, there are temporary flight restrictions (TFR) in place that prohibit any aircraft, drones included, from flying within a 4 mile radius of the Balloon Park. AIBF worked with the FAA to allow one drone, from Colibri Media House, to fly within the TFR to capture video specifically for the Balloon Fiesta.
