At the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, a powerful new voice is emerging. “The Paper Trail” is a monthly newspaper written entirely by incarcerated women, giving them a chance to share their stories, their struggles, and their hope. “We are hoping to show people that we’re also people you know, we made mistakes. We planted over 200 plants inside the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla for Victims Awareness Day, with participants planting in honor of their victims. This was our first big planting event, and now we’re planning another, extending to other yards. In partnership with the Inside Garden Program and the National Park Service, we’ve already planted over 200 different plants.
