On October 1, 2005, in the immediate aftermath of the Bali bombings, DFAT activated its crisis response — working with our Indonesian partners and other Australian agencies to assist those affected. Officers in Canberra and on the ground in Indonesia helped coordinate medical evacuations, locate missing Australians, and provide consular support to families and survivors.
